Mr. Md. Akmal Hossain

Mr. Md. Akmal Hossain has a banking career spanning over two decades. He started his career as a “Probationary Officer” with Janata Bank Ltd., one of the leading state- owned bank in Bangladesh. A leader, change maker and seasoned banking professional with over 25 years of experience having a clearcareer flow with renowned commercial banks, including Mutual Trust Bank, Pubali Bank Ltd, and Bank Asia Ltd. He has a comprehensive Techno-functionalknowledge in foreign trade, Correspondent Banking, Credit Line Arrangement, and SWIFT Administration. Actively involved in the SWIFT user community and holds significant positions such as Country Representative of the 'SWIFT Trade Finance Maintenance Working Group' and Secretary General of SWIFT Member and User Group of Bangladesh (SMUGB). He is also a mentor for the STAR Scholarship Program of SIBOS. He has successfully established direct correspondent relationships with more than 400 financial institutions and Remittance Drawing arrangements with more than 40 exchange houses worldwide with a vision of zero- kilometre financial transactions. Mr. Md. Akmal Hossain has obtained his graduation and post-graduation degree majoring in Social Science from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. He has an MBA degree from Victoria University, Bangladesh and an Advanced Certification in Business Administration (ACBA) form Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also holds a Diploma in Computer Science & Technology.
